On November 20th, during the rugby test match between France and New Zealand at the Stade de France stadium near Paris, Louis Vuitton unveiled the official Rugby World Cup France 2023 trophy travel case.
The iconic Webb Ellis Cup, presented to the Rugby World Cup winner, will be carefully displayed in this new custom-made case throughout the tournament, which will be played across France from September to October 2023.

Louis Vuitton has worked closely with the Rugby World Cup 2023 Organising Committee to create this specially designed travel case. It marks a new chapter in the Maison's longstanding relationship with Rugby World Cup, which began when the Maison designed the first trophy case to house the Webb Ellis Cup at Rugby World Cup 2015.
This specially commissioned case, created for Rugby World Cup France 2023, was handcrafted by skilled artisans at the Louis Vuitton workshop in Asnières, near Paris. Covered in the Maison's iconic Monogram canvas, the two front panels feature the word "Victory" and a "V" representing Vuitton painted in blue, white, and red, evocative of the tournament's colors. The side also features the Roman numeral "XV," representing 15, a number that holds special significance in the world of rugby union, as it represents the number of players on a team. The exterior is finished with rosin trim and features brass corner protectors, locks, and clasps, which have been used on Louis Vuitton trunks since the 1860s. For the first time in the Maison's long-standing Trophy Trunk collection for various sporting events, the case is lined in luxurious Louis Vuitton leather in the same vibrant Pantone Blue as the "V" embellishment. A Rugby World Cup 2023 logo patch on the inside of the lid further enhances the case's special character.
