On July 8, Amazon Japan and Amazon Data Services Japan will open their first regional branches, the Amazon Japan Osaka Branch and the Amazon Data Services Japan Osaka Branch, in Kita-ku, Osaka.
These branches will serve as a base for access to existing and new business partners through proposals that utilize the company's fulfillment centers based in Western Japan, with the aim of strengthening listing and web services in Western Japan.
In addition, in order to expand the product lineup of the "Nippon Store" (www.amazon.co.jp/nippon), which opened on the website in 2010 and sells local gourmet food and specialty products from all over Japan, the company plans to focus on developing listing businesses that produce and sell specialty products based in Western Japan.
