The third volume of "The Whispered Directory of Craftsmanship" (published by Electa Mondadori), a book by Italian luxury brand FENDI chronicling the history of craftsmanship and stories of its traditional techniques, will be released in July.
To commemorate the 30th anniversary of FENDI's iconic striped pattern "PEQUIN," the volume comes with a matching outer box. The contents focus on the background to the high quality unique to the traditional "Made in Italy" brand, explaining the unique manufacturing methods, history, and highlights of the products with designs, illustrations, and text. The alphabetical index introduces FENDI craftsmen beginning with the first letter of each title, as well as brand history and essays highlighting the deep connections to art, architecture, film, and music associated with actual items.
The first volume, released in 2010, was only available in English and Italian, but the Japanese version was released in the second volume, released the following year. This third volume will also be available in French and Chinese. Only the Japanese version will be released in Japan. It will be sold only at Fendi directly managed stores. The price is 5,250 yen.
