Alexander McQueen presents women's and men's tailored items from the Spring/Summer 2022 Pre-Collection.
The Spring/Summer 2022 Pre-Collection was inspired by the English poet, painter, and engraver William Blake. He was born in London in 1757 and spent most of his life, except for three years, in the British capital. Based on the concept that imagination is the purest form of escapism, the collection centers on everyday elements like air and water to express the beauty of light emerging from darkness.
The tailored items are embodied in McQueen's attention to detail. We'll introduce these carefully crafted tailored items and take a look inside the atelier.
A single-breasted tailored jacket made from black wool with slash sleeves and a silver spiral zipper detail. The zipper is evenly positioned and then fitted and fine-tuned in the London atelier.
To maintain a connection between the men's and women's collections, the same jacket, which was fitted again, also appears in the men's collection.
Strong colours such as ice pink and ultramarine add accents, breathing new life into the silhouette.
A double-breasted tailored jacket made from cerulean blue wool.
Multiple fittings are conducted for both men and women to achieve the perfect silhouette.
This single-breasted tailored jacket is crafted from ivory wool and features a corset waist detail with a silver zipper.
Trompe l'oeil jacket made from sharkskin wool mohair.
