Fans will be drooling over early figures! An unprecedented "Snoopy Exhibition" will be held in Roppongi from October

May 29, 2013

The "Snoopy Exhibition: Happiness Is Getting to Know You" will open on October 12th at the Mori Arts Center Gallery in Roppongi, Tokyo, showcasing the world of "Peanuts," the American newspaper comic strip known for Snoopy, originally created by Charles M. Schulz.

The exhibition will feature approximately 100 original drawings, including Schulz's sketches and original drawings from his early work "Lil' Folks," which will be shown in Japan for the first time. In addition to the drawings, the exhibition will also feature vintage items such as animation works, past collaborations with brands and artists, and early figurines that fans will adore.

Charles created over 17,000 stories for Peanuts over a 50-year period, starting in 1950, and the series has been published in over 2,600 newspapers in 75 countries around the world. The Japanese translations are handled by poet Shuntaro Tanikawa. Snoopy has long been loved in the fashion world, with brands such as mastermind JAPAN, LACOSTE, and LONGCHAMP releasing commemorative items for the 60th anniversary event in 2010.
