
Actor Yusuke Iseya was born on May 29, 1976, in Tokyo. His father is a tailor. His half-brother is fashion designer Kansai Yamamoto.
After graduating from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Tokyo University of the Arts, he completed a Master's program at the Graduate School of Fine Arts at the same university. While still a student, he made his debut as a fashion model in 1996, appearing in magazines and fashion shows. He also walked in the Prada show in Milan.
He made his film debut in the 1999 film "It's a Wonderful Life." Having attended English conversation classes since childhood and having studied abroad at New York University for a short period, his fluency in English has led to him appearing in international films. He directed the 2002 film "Kakuto."
In 2009, he launched the "REBIRTH PROJECT" and serves as its representative. This is a project that considers and implements activities from a creative perspective in areas essential to social life, such as education, art, and support, based on the question, "What should humanity do to survive on Earth?" Artists, creators, and producers from a variety of fields are participating.
Major activities include supporting the reconstruction and recovery of Higashimatsushima City, Miyagi Prefecture, which was damaged in the Great East Japan Earthquake, producing a crowdfunding system called the "Genkidama Project," and collaborative projects with COACH, Art Fair Tokyo, and PIEDPIPER.
