On the 2nd, Zebra Japan will open the Danish lifestyle goods store "Flying Tiger Copenhagen Omotesando Store." A preview was held on September 30th prior to the opening. The store is located on the 1st floor of Omotesando Square, 4-3-2 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. The store is located on the former site of the family restaurant "Royal Host." The sales floor area is 452.2 m2. The interior is simple white, with island fixtures arranged like a maze and one-way aisles. "We want you to enjoy shopping like you're on a treasure hunt. The one-way design and white space are consistent worldwide. We have a consistent policy of not localizing, so the stores are completely indistinguishable from one another," said a Zebra Japan PR representative. A total of 1,800 items will be available, including PC accessories, kitchenware, stationery, bags, shoes, candles, ornaments, and more. All of the designs are colorful and pop. The average price ranges from 200 to 400 yen. The lowest price is 100 yen, and the highest is a tree-shaped coat hanger at 2,000 yen. The most popular item is patterned paper napkins, available in a pack of 20 for 100 yen, which are in high demand in Denmark, where home party culture is thriving.
Flying Tiger Copenhagen opened its first Asian store in Shinsaibashi, Osaka, last July under the name "Tiger Copenhagen." For its Tokyo expansion, the brand name was changed to "Flying Tiger Copenhagen," signifying its "leap forward" to become a global brand. Even now, the Osaka store has limited entry on weekends. Along with nearby ASOKO, a store by Yushin Creation, the Osaka goods war has become a hot topic.
Also in Tokyo, ASOKO opened in Harajuku on September 27th. A PR representative said, "Rather than being a competitor, we see Tiger as a unique format, so we're more concerned about how well this style will be accepted in Japan."
The store has closed twice in Osaka due to stock shortages, but the PR representative expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "This time we have enough products to open a flea market. We hope you enjoy shopping."
