Playing with textiles on simple, modern furniture. Captivated by the charm of Scandinavian interior design, the online fabric and miscellaneous goods store "Rene Due" was started by a married couple. While they already have offline stores in the Kansai region and Shibuya, Tokyo, their sixth store, the Kobe International Conference Center SOL, has opened on the second basement floor (8-1-6 Miyuki-dori, Chuo-ku, Kobe). The Kobe SOL store boasts a sales floor area of approximately 132m². The store has contracts with European fabric brands, primarily from Scandinavia, and offers one of Japan's largest selections of approximately 500 fabrics. The store's design variety, including products from Swedish design studio Björkfors, goes beyond the typical image of Scandinavian fabrics and is astonishing. Many brands are imported directly from local manufacturers and are only available at "Rene Due." In addition to popular fabric panels, the store also offers semi-custom orders for curtains, as well as original stools, lampshades, cushion covers, and bags, all made with your own fabric. Fabrics are sold in 10cm increments and can also be purchased in half widths. The price range for fabrics is mainly around ¥4,000 to ¥5,000 per meter.
In addition to fabrics and accessories designed in-house, the store also has a fun lineup of retro and warm Nordic items, such as reproduction items from Danish company Lucie Kaas and tableware from Norwegian pottery manufacturer FIGGJO.
