CHANEL presented its Spring/Summer 2014 collection at Paris Fashion Week. Approximately 75 Chanel-themed artworks were on display, and the gallery-like setting demonstrated that artistic director Karl Lagerfeld was inspired by art.
The collection began with spring-like pastels of blue and pink, then moved on to wine red, white, and navy, and finally a colorful palette of multicolored paints adorned the runway. The collection featured a wide variety of materials, including tweed woven with chiffon, organza, and plastic fibers, knitwear, silicone lace prints, and leather.
In addition to designs that combined different materials, such as a dress with two different tweeds and pants with a tweed belt at the waist, one-shoulder jackets and dresses and skirts with deep slits were featured as key pieces.
All models wore boots with integrated socks. Accessories included bold layering of large pearl necklaces, rings, and long necklaces. A variety of bag designs were also showcased, from colorful backpacks to small clutches with metal handles and palette-patterned chain bags.
