The mintdesigns 14SS collection was held at Laforet Museum Roppongi on October 15th. The designers were Hokuto Katsui and Nao Yagi. This season's theme was "VERTIGO."
Different from the graphic prints and repeating patterns they have proposed until now, the collection proposed dresses and coats with prints reminiscent of action paintings and dripping, and prints reminiscent of abstract paintings combined with gray coats and sheer stripes. The brand's iconic children's motifs were also mixed into the patterns. The prints on the sleeveless coats and dresses using geometric patterns emphasize three-dimensionality, unevenness, and luster. The patterns combined curved patterns with canvas-like linear patterns. The two designers said, "We aimed to create new materials that have never been seen before, materials with textures that are not usually used in clothing, mixed with materials that are usually used in clothing, and with textures that make you want to touch them. Rather than designing clothes, we started out with the idea of making something different, of forgetting about clothing. We were not conscious of creating art. In order to create something new, we decided to design in a completely different direction and way, rather than using the same way of thinking about clothing as before."
