On October 15th, Sise unveiled its 2014 Spring/Summer collection. The theme was "STORY OF A MAN." Drawing inspiration from Leonardo DiCaprio, one of designer Seishin Matsui's "heroes" who also served as inspiration for the previous season, the collection depicted the life of a man he played in the film "The Great Gatsby." The collection began with a naive, boyish style with an androgynous sensibility, featuring a knit sweater with a single cable-patterned line down the front, a white shirt, a chesterfield coat, pants designed to look like a shirt wrapped around the waist, and a pleated skirt. The realistic botanical pattern was inspired by the scene in which Gatsby reunites with his beloved. The large crossbody travel bag is a collaboration item with PORTER.
Halfway through the collection, glamorous and formal motifs such as gold geometric embroidery and striped satin suits were added, proposing a style for grown-up men. The final collection features a series made from jacquard fabric that represents the work of contemporary artist Omura Yukino, who paints night scenes using round stickers. The designs feature night views of Roppongi and Tokyo Tower.
"I'm already 32 years old. This time, I wanted to distance myself from the 'boyishness' that I've always pursued, and express the image of the man of the future. I wanted to take a step forward as a brand, and I'm making what I want to wear now," said Matsui.
