TAE ASHIDA unveiled its 2014 Spring/Summer collection on October 16th. The designer was Tae Ashida.
The show began with a projection mapping that resembled mirrored light reflected on the back of the stage. Five scenes unfolded in succession, accented throughout by iconic leather pads on the feet and thick bangles stacked on the wrists. The collection portrayed an urban woman who exuded not only elegance but also strength and assertiveness.
Scene 1 featured many animal prints, including zebra and snake prints, and a color palette centered on brown and khaki, creating a tribal atmosphere. A safari-inspired urban look was incorporated into urban wear. Scene 2 featured vivid blue, green, black, and white paint art motifs. A jacket with a wavy, curved front was also featured.
Scene 3 was a tricolor collection of red, blue, and white. The collection includes a style featuring a blue pinstripe pantsuit accented with a red belt, as well as three-colour digital pattern-style items. Scene 4 mainly features two patterns: a soft and pure style that makes extensive use of white and light blue see-through materials and lace, and a cool monotone style with a large black and white paisley pattern motif. Scene 5 features dress styles made from shiny metallic fabrics in purple and emerald green, and sequined fabrics in black and blue.
