Model Jessica Michibata was born on October 21, 1984, in Fukui Prefecture. Her father is half Spanish and half Italian, and her mother is Japanese. Her older sister, Karen, and younger sister, Angelica, are also active models. Encouraged by her mother, she appeared in a brochure for a local children's clothing store at age five. She was later invited by the same modeling agency Karen was affiliated with, and made her modeling debut in 1997 at age 13. Following her debut, she moved to Tokyo, where she subsequently appeared in various magazines and gained popularity. In 2007, she became the image model and designer for the bag brand Samantha Thavasa. She designs her own bags, "Samantha Vega by Jessica," and jewelry, "Samantha Silva by Jessica," and sold them. She also made her Paris Fashion Week debut at the 2010 Spring/Summer Paris Haute Couture Collection, modeling Yumi Katsura's wedding dress. In her private life, she has been dating British F1 World Champion Jenson Button since around 2009. They broke up in 2010, but have continued to keep in touch since then and are now back together.
