Rakuten and Rakuten Group company Stylife will launch a new e-commerce site, "VAULT," in mid-November. VAULT is a video commerce site launched in the United States in 2012. Its concept is to tell the story of each product through high-quality videos, stimulating users' latent needs and sensibilities. Under the "VAULT" brand, Rakuten and Stylife aim to be Japan's first full-scale video commerce service. Ahead of the November launch, a teaser site was pre-launched on the 18th, featuring a special item: a portrait of musician YOSHIKI by Conrad LEACH. Conrad LEACH is a London-based pop culture icon. He creates portraits of famous people using his unique techniques, and has a global fanbase that includes Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols and Anja Hindmarch. In Japan, he was invited as a featured artist by Celux, a members-only salon under the LVMH umbrella, and is also known for having appeared on the covers of Japanese magazines such as LEON and HUGE. YOSHIKI's digital album "YOSHIKI CLASSICAL," released last month, reached number one on the iTunes Store Classical Albums chart in 10 countries.
In addition, as part of a collaborative initiative with Parco, which opened a store on Rakuten Market's "Rakuten Brand Avenue" on the 18th, a special corner will be set up in the incubation space of Shibuya Parco Part 1 from the 18th until October 30th. A video recording of a conversation between YOSHIKI and Conrad Leitch will be screened on a display inside the venue.
