A pop-up event for "A.P.C. QUILTS," a quilting project by A.P.C. designer Jean Touitou and designer Jessica Ogden, began on the 23rd at The Stage #2 on the second floor of the Isetan Shinjuku store. Jessica visited Japan for the event and looked back on their collaborative project from 12 years ago. "At the time, he was thinking about how to recycle 25 years' worth of fabric he had made for A.P.C.," she said. "That's when we met and decided to start this project. His mother is also a quilter, so it was a very natural progression for us to start a collaborative project." In addition to 20 previously released quilts, the event will also feature specially designed makeup pouches, vanity cases, and a bag called "Panier" (Small: 13,650 yen / Large: 24,150 yen), inspired by French mini baskets. All products are made in India using A.P.C.'s archive fabrics. The framed "mini quilts" feature Jessica's signature on the back. Jessica loves cats, and this time she will also be showcasing cat-themed iPhone cases (5,250 yen) and cushions (18,900 yen). "Until now, I've made things for indoor use, like the multi-purpose covers I've made, but this time I've designed many accessories that can be used outdoors. Sometimes I run out of fabric while I'm making them, but it's exciting because I get to discover new fabrics. I always try to breathe new life into vintage quilts," says Jessica.
