"Projecting the powerful beauty of the Kayapo people" Amber [14SS Tokyo Collection]

Oct 24, 2013

AMBELL's 2014 Spring/Summer season was presented in the form of an installation. The theme was "Urban Tribe," and the collection, inspired by the Kayapo people, an indigenous South American tribe, was displayed in a forest-like space, filled with the sounds of birds and the wind. "By combining the image of the Kayapo people, known for their uniform yet powerful culture, with the diverse fashion of modern times, I was able to express their timeless beauty in an updated way, in the AMBELL style, which pursues new creations," said designer Bunzo Kado. The unique Kayapo patterns were expressed in an original jacquard. The print was a jungle pattern inspired by nature. Using strong colors, primarily red, black, and white, the pieces made a striking impact with urban wardrobe pieces, such as tailored jackets and pleated dresses.
