The "Men's Nippon Takumi Exhibition," a special collaboration between men's magazine MEN'S EX and ISETAN MEN'S, has opened in the 7th floor event space of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku. It brings together limited-edition, Japan-made items. It runs until April 14th. This year marks the third time the exhibition has been held, and it is part of the "JAPAN SENSES" campaign, which Isetan Mitsukoshi has been running since 2011. Selected tailors representing Japan and masters of various genres have gathered together on one floor, offering a wide variety of items, from heavy clothing to shoes and leather accessories. Nine tailor brands are featured, including "Lid Tailor," known for its rounded tailoring, and "Hideaki Sato," which has introduced authentic tailoring to Japan. The 14 brands featured include "Yohhei Fukuda," whose shoes have a turnaround time of 14 months, and "Fujitaka," where Patina's Yusuke Ito hand-dyes leather bags. A different Tailor Meister will be present each day during the event, allowing customers to meet and order in person. A highlight is the special offer: one fully custom-made suit per day from two of Isetan Men's' young tailors, Nobuto Yamaguchi and Hiroaki Takashima. Fabrics can be selected from Isetan Men's selections, with a turnaround time of approximately three months. Nobuto Yamaguchi will be available on the 9th and 10th, while Hiroaki Takashima will be available on the 9th and 11th, on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition to the ordering event, various events will be held during the event. Isetan Men's custom-made shirts will be available at special prices for three days, from the 9th to the 11th. On the 13th, a direct fitting show will be held by Toshio Kanzawa of the tailoring workshop "Sarto." After taking measurements, he will draw lines directly on the fabric and cut it directly, and on the day of the show, he will assemble it all the way to the fitting in 90 minutes. The custom-made pants made at this show (usually starting at 95,000 yen) will be gifted to one person selected in advance by lottery from among the magazine's readers.
