PIERRE HERME PARIS's "Macaron Day" charity event for children battling serious illnesses will be held from June 1st to June 21st this year. This year's ambassador is Hello Kitty, celebrating her 40th birthday. In Japan, Macaron Day falls on the summer solstice, which falls on June 21st this year. A new ambassador has been appointed since last year, with the dress-up doll Licca-chan taking the baton in the first year and competitive swimmer Ryosuke Irie taking the baton last year. During the event, a limited-edition gift box (9,720 yen) will be available at Pierre Hermé Paris boutiques and online boutiques nationwide. The special Hello Kitty packaging contains 20 macaron flavors, including the Hello Kitty-inspired rose and jasmine flavor "Jardin Parfumé." A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Certified NPO National Network for Supporting Children with Serious Illnesses. A promotional video featuring Hello Kitty will also be released on the brand's official website, the Hello Kitty 40th Anniversary special website, and in-store at the Aoyama boutique. There will also be donation boxes set up, free macarons (only on Macaron Day), and a campaign to distribute limited-edition LINE PLAY items. Furthermore, on June 21st, "MACARON NIGHT" will be held at the Terratoria multipurpose hall in Tennozu Isle, Tokyo. Guests will be able to sample Pierre Hermé Paris macarons, as well as macaron cakes and ice cream, and there will also be a Hello Kitty performance. Applications for participation will be accepted from early June on the Pierre Hermé Paris official website (first 100 people). The participation fee of 6,480 yen will be donated to the Certified NPO National Network for Supporting Children with Incurable Diseases.
