At her wedding to Grand Duke George Mikhailovich, heir to the Romanov dynasty, held at Saint Isaac's Cathedral in St. Petersburg on October 1, 2021, the bride Rebecca Victoria Romanovna Bettarini wore the "Rashi" tiara from the Perspectives de Chaumet collection, a special piece of Chaumet high jewelry.

The “Lassi” Tiara from the Perspectives de Chaumet collection
A modern interpretation of the traditional Russian kokoshnik headpiece, Chaumet’s latest creation, the “Lassi” tiara, evokes the volume of sails blown by the wind. It pays homage to the St. Petersburg port hub where Grand Duke George Mikhailovich, the eldest son of the Romanov dynasty, worked. This high jewellery piece features two exceptionally high-quality diamonds: a D VVS1 oval diamond (5.02 carats) and a D VVS2 pear-shaped diamond (2.21 carats), as well as 438 pavé diamonds totalling 27.03 carats. The Maison's signature technique of setting the diamonds in a white gold mesh called fil couteau maximizes the brilliance of the stones while creating an optical effect that hides the metal.

Chaumet and Russia
Official jeweller to Empress Josephine and Napoleon I, Chaumet excelled in the field of tiaras, the most precious jewels of royalty, and its historical clientele included members of the Romanov dynasty. Grand Duchess Vladimir, great-grandmother of Grand Duke George Mikhailovich, was one of Chaumet's most valued customers. Chaumet's signature pieces include the Waterfall tiara, created in 1911, and the Sunburst tiara, created in 1914 for the wedding of Princess Irina Yusupova, niece of Nicholas II. The Chaumet "Rashi" tiara, worn at the wedding of a descendant of the Romanov family, marked a new chapter in the Maison's story with Russia.
