Artist Mumbleboy's solo exhibition, "DANCE by CHANCE," will be held at WISH LESS gallery in Tabata, Kita Ward, Tokyo, from June 24th to July 16th.
Mumbleboy (real name: Kinya Hanada) created his comical animated works using Flash, a popular software during the early days of the Internet, from 1998 to 2002. His comical animations were so well-received that American musician Beck commissioned him to create a music video for him. He has also worked on music videos for artists such as Shugo Tokumaru, O. Lamm, and Momus, projected his work at New York's Grand Central Station, and worked as a VJ. After spending nearly 30 years in the United States, he has now returned to Japan and is currently exhibiting art primarily in Fujisawa, Kanagawa Prefecture.
This exhibition will feature danceable sculptures that seem to jump out of the screen, as well as evolved animations.
