Okayama-based design firm CIFAKA has opened a coffee stand called "STAND" (6-10 Ishiseki-cho, Kita-ku, Okayama Prefecture) in collaboration with Katayama Kogyo Co., Ltd. in Ibara City, Okayama Prefecture. The store will begin renting out the world's first "walking bicycles" on June 3rd.
The takeout specialty store serves original coffee carefully roasted at Caferico in Nadazaki, Okayama, and offers handmade sandwiches, baked goods, seasonal gelato, drinks, and craft beer. This time, they will be opening a rental shop for "walking bicycles," which allow riders to enjoy a higher perspective while riding, making discoveries that are impossible to make on foot or by bicycle.
The walking bicycle is a three-wheeled vehicle that does not wobble when stopping or starting, and moves forward electrically assisted by transmitting a "walking-like" motion to the pedals. The body, which incorporates the spirit of Japanese craftsmanship and features gentle lines and a meticulous finish, is available in four colors: Brilliant Red, Moegi Green, Champagne Gold, and Sakura Pink. It's environmentally friendly with no need to worry about exhaust fumes, and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Rentals are available for 800 yen per hour, 2,000 yen for a three-hour plan, and 3,000 yen for a one-day plan (up to six hours).
