BEAMS will be holding a pop-up at BEAMS JAPAN in Shinjuku, Tokyo, from June 7th to July 4th to celebrate the 110th anniversary of Kamenoko Tawashi Nishio Shoten.
The pop-up, held to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the store, which continues to produce the Kamenoko Tawashi, the original scrubbing brush known as one of Japan's three greatest inventions, is being held in collaboration with STYLE FOR LIVING, the lifestyle goods label of UNITED ARROWS.
Limited-edition collaborative products include the "Kamenoko Tawashi Paper Wrap Package" (340 yen), a reproduction of the Kamenoko Tawashi's most popular paper wrap package; "Kamenoko Sponges" (300 yen each / 900 yen for a pack of 3) featuring the brand colors of the store, BEAMS, and UNITED ARROWS; and the "Kame Notebook" (1,300 yen) with embossed turtle shell-inspired front and back covers.
Also, on June 18th, a workshop will be held on the 1st floor of BEAMS JAPAN from 2pm, 3pm, 4pm and 5pm where you can make a Kamenoko Tawashi together with a craftsman (maximum of 8 people per session/participation fee 1,000 yen).
The same event will also be held at the United Arrows Harajuku flagship store women's wing and the Kamenoko Tawashi flagship store and Yanaka store during the same period.
