Chinese restaurant Wang Dynasty, located on the second floor of Hilton Tokyo, is holding a dessert fair called "Alice and the Queen of Hearts' Challenge" at the Marble Lounge on the first floor of the hotel. The restaurant will be holding an "Autumn Alice Dessert & Dim Sum Lunch" (4,000 yen) during weekday lunchtimes from September 5th to October 31st. This set includes 15 desserts from the Marble Lounge and 10 dim sum and light meals inspired by the Alice story. Desserts include the "Paint It Red Roll Cake," inspired by the episode in which the playing cards paint white roses red to avoid upsetting the Queen of Hearts, and the "Religieuse," a two-tiered cherry cream puff inspired by the Queen's catchphrase, "Cut her head off!" The Dynasty Kitchen will be serving up "White Rabbit Steamed Shrimp Dumplings," inspired by the White Rabbit who led Alice to Wonderland, and adorable "Wonderland Steamed Dumplings" resembling turnips, as well as "Black Pork Spring Rolls" and "Chicken Curry Deep Fried Dumplings." The dessert buffet, like that at the Marble Lounge, was also produced by David Guimarés. Inspired by the various episodes between Alice and the Queen of Hearts in the latter half of the story, the buffet will not only express a cute, but also a slightly dark and twisted world for adults. Additionally, from September 1st to 30th, the "Mid-Autumn Moon Special Course" (15,000 yen) will be available, featuring seven dishes, from appetizers to dessert, showcasing the beauty of the moon as it changes over time. This course, offered to celebrate the harvest moon on September 15th, begins with "Mid-Autumn Festival," a lunar feast featuring an assortment of dishes including angel shrimp with scallion sauce and beef shank braised in soy sauce. Other dishes include "Half Moon Showering River," featuring a moonlit golden water surface dipped in salted egg sauce and black abalone floating in it, and "Ming Pearl Playing Rabbit," a dim sum depiction of rabbits frolicking atop a full moon-like shumai wrapped in silken egg. "Moonlight Night Light," featuring soft-boiled pork spare ribs garnished with egg yolk and Sichuan peppercorns, evokes the image of a full moon rising into the night sky. Following "Moonlight Dodo," a stir-fried lobster and king crab, is "Green Lake Reflecting Moon," featuring fried rice dipped in rock seaweed paste to represent the moon's reflection disappearing from the lake's surface, bringing the lunar feast to a close. At the end, the moment the glass container covering the mango pudding was removed, silvery glittering beads rolled around the pudding, creating a bright scene resembling a full moon shining in a starry sky.
