On September 24th, KEITA MARUYAMA completely renovated and reopened its Aoyama flagship store as the "Maruyama Residence MAISON de MARUYAMA." Previously, the first floor was the Aoyama flagship store and the second floor was the atelier, but with this renovation, both floors have become retail space. The store also features "THE SPACE," an event space curated by Maruyama himself, as well as a souvenir shop, stocking collections, collaborations with other brands, and limited edition items. The store, named after Maruyama's home, incorporates new technology, such as a digital-themed projection mapping system at the back of the first floor. It also features curtains from the Paris store and doors from the Aoyama flagship store, creating a coexistence of old and new. The wallpaper also features prints of archive materials used in collections from the early 2000s.

The first thing that catches your eye as you enter the first floor store is the event space "THE SPACE" on the right. It is used to display collaborative items and exhibitions with designers and artists that Maruyama is interested in. For the first time, the store will be selling special items exclusive to this store that were created in collaboration with designers and artists who Maruyama himself would actually like to buy, such as FACETASM, PORTER CLASSIC, AKIRA UNO, designer eri, who is also the successor to DEPT, and portrait embroidery artist yuccomiiico.

The contents of "THE SPACE" change approximately every two months.
In the center of the first floor is "Tokyo Souvenir," a souvenir shop based on the concept of "the kind of souvenir I'd like to buy." It sells a variety of Tokyo souvenirs unique to Keita Maruyama, from items with motifs like sushi, Kaminarimon, and pandas, to T-shirts printed with original illustrations by SHUN SUDO. In addition to the traditional collection line, the shop also regularly stocks exclusive items such as Chinese dresses and clutches made from the highly popular Sukajan material.

Meanwhile, the second floor will permanently display the collection line and wedding dresses, as well as furniture, tableware, and cushion covers in collaboration with antique furniture retailer Lloyds Antiques. Also on sale are books selected by BACH representative Haba Masataka based on keywords communicated by Maruyama, such as the collection's theme, as well as Japanese miscellaneous goods that Maruyama would like to introduce.
Maruyama said, "It's been really tough, but I want to share from here what I'm thinking, what I value, and what I want to do. I've been very particular about the products I sell here and have only stocked things that I really love. Even if they don't sell, I'm OK with it because I can just buy them myself (laughs). What I want to do hasn't changed at all since the beginning, but I want to continue doing things that I think are wonderful and that make life enjoyable."
