The theme of KEITA MARUYAMA's 2016 Spring/Summer collection is "Asaki Yumemishi." Designer Maruyama Keita's unwavering romantic world is unfolding through delicate pieces with a nostalgic Japanese flair.
Japanese handicraft techniques such as embroidery, lace, and sewing are incorporated into basic and resort items such as dresses, skirts, coats, and knitwear, with traditional Japanese patterns layered and reflected like wordplay.
Kimono motifs of flowers, water, and clouds are featured on shiny pale-toned dresses and skirts, woven dresses and coats with flowing clouds and diamond patterns, and organza dresses embroidered with swallows and willows, creating a consistently luxurious KEITA world.
The designer's signature sukajan jacket, featuring a parade of Japanese patterns such as cranes, tigers, Mount Fuji, plum blossoms, and cherry blossoms, is a must-buy this season.
Under Mammina's leadership, which took over the brand's operations from Autumn/Winter 2014-15, the collection aimed at global expansion not only has a brighter overall color palette, but also a brighter impression. The collection quietly and strongly conveys a continuing elegance.
