The collection's theme, "Magic Lanters," evoked the atmosphere of a luxurious Hollywood party. The venue was decked out in pink sofas, a pink carpet emblazoned with the brand's signature green and red lines, and over 250,000 mirrored sequins plastered across the walls, bathing the entire venue in a vibrant pink glow. Smoke began to fill the air, and the show began with the words of British musician Florence Welch, "Release the tension." Florence Blake's gentle, soothing voice recited poems by British poet William Blake, accompanied by music from the La Traversee orchestra. Models strutted through a pink mist, wearing tiered chiffon evening dresses, Chinoiserie-inspired pajama-style dresses, and sequined dresses. The luxurious, high-quality fabrics were complemented by fairytale-like colors like vivid yellow, royal blue, and grass green. Michele's eclecticism, freely transcending borders and eras, was evident throughout, incorporating Oriental influences such as Japanese kimonos, cheongsams, and ethnic clothing. Floral headgear and headscarves, reminiscent of Queen Elizabeth II's favorites, and crystal-adorned glasses with irregular lenses, were complemented by accessories that further enhanced the layered decoration, creating a sartorial aesthetic that was almost emotional. The collection evoked the fashion of the early 20th century under the reign of King Edward VII. At a time when people were freed from corsets and high-waisted dresses were becoming a trend, influenced by the fashion cultures of other countries. This era celebrated material wealth and reflected self-satisfaction and affluence, and combined it with Hollywood nightclubs in the midst of the 1970s bubble and the fairy tale world of Tim Burton, brilliantly created the unique, mysterious and fantastical world of GUCCI.
