Condé Nast Japan will release WIRED Vol. 13, a fashion special, on September 10th. The special is titled "Fashion Decoded: Fashion Seeks Technology." The idea of "decoding fashion" was born in 2011 from the adventurous spirit of journalist Liz Bacelar, and the issue will feature a vision of the future of fashion as envisioned by "Decoded Fashion," which has spread from New York to London, Milan, and Paris, influencing not only fashion industry experts but also governments around the world. Liz has put forward six recommendations for fashion in the digital age. This issue explores the future of fashion from various perspectives, including "Startup Designers' Theory on Next-Generation Brands," focusing on Alex Mill, FEIT, and Alexnader Olch; "The Denim Factory of the Future," an introductory look into Levi's research lab; "Seven Case Studies Going Beyond Online/Offline," looking at Burberry, Puma, and others; four entrepreneurs showcasing innovative endeavors; and 13 fashion startups. WIRED previously featured Burberry's digital strategy. This issue is no less compelling. Other features include a special contribution from tofubeats, who will release their first major album in October, and a behind-the-scenes look at the curators behind the establishment of the 9/11 Museum, which opened in May. A special supplement, co-edited with the photography magazine IMA, is also included.
