The exhibition "The Joy of Fashion History - From the Ishiyama Akira Book Collection" will be held at the Kobe Fashion Museum from October 18th.

This exhibition will focus on the fashion history book collection left behind by Ishiyama Akira, a leading researcher in Western fashion history who passed away in 2011. The exhibition will unravel the history of fashion through an exhibition of Ishiyama's collection, which he spent nearly 70 years researching fashion history, including fashion plates - prints depicting men and women wearing trendy clothing - as well as costumes from the Kobe Fashion Museum's collection. Related events will also be held, including a commemorative lecture by Tokyo Kasei University professor Keiko Nozawa entitled "The Appearance and Spirit of the Times Communicated by Fashion Plates" (application required, first 100 people) on November 22nd at 2pm, and "Make Your Own Fashion Plate with a Mimeograph" (application required, first 20 people, participation fee 1,000 yen) on November 3rd at 1pm, where participants can print using a mimeograph, a printing device born in the Meiji era.

In addition, the "Felissimo Christmas Archives Collection Exhibition/Happy Toys Unveiling Exhibition," which will introduce tree ornaments and accessories from Felissimo's Christmas collection of approximately 100,000 items, will be held in the first floor lobby from November 20th to December 25th, so be sure to enjoy those events as well.
