A one-of-a-kind timepiece. For the first time, Bvlgari will be participating in the Only Watch charity auction, offering the Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar with a tantalum case. Crafted from tantalum, a metal worthy of a world-record-setting model, this timepiece will be auctioned in Geneva on November 6, 2021.

Only Watch is a watch auction that raises funds for Duchenne muscular dystrophy research, and each auction brings together exceptional brands and one-of-a-kind creations. Bvlgari is no exception, offering the Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar Tantalum. This time, they have chosen tantalum, a rare metal with unique properties. Tantalum, highly corrosion-resistant and extremely biocompatible, is used in medical engineering, the nuclear industry, and electronics. With a density of 16.6 g/cm², it is twice as heavy as steel. The tantalum used by Bvlgari for its Only Watch models boasts near-100% absolute purity.

The manufacture movement features a perpetual calendar, one of the most complex complications, displaying all relevant calendar indications through February 2100. This truly astonishingly compact, 2.75 mm-thick caliber powers all the perpetual calendar functions, including the hour and minute hands, as well as retrograde day, month, and date indicators and a leap year retrograde indicator. Three correctors allow adjustment of the date (at 2 o'clock), month (at 4 o'clock), and day (between 8 and 9 o'clock). The Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar Tantalum being auctioned at Only Watch features a deep blue dial that evokes the color of this metal. In keeping with the purpose for which this irreplaceable timepiece was created, the auction month, November (NOV), is displayed as "NOW" instead of "OV", replacing "OV" with the initials "OW" for "Only Watch", and the watch also features the symbolic color of the event. The future owner of this world-record-holding timepiece will have the privilege of owning a unique piece in the world of 21st-century cult models.
