French creative group "Commune de Paris" visits Japan, opens limited-time store at Beams

Sep 4, 2014

A pop-up store celebrating the 5th anniversary of the founding of "COMMUNE DE PARIS" will be open from September 5th to 15th at International Gallery BEAMS (3-25-15 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo).

"COMMUNE DE PARIS" was founded in 2010. It is a creative collective comprised of an unspecified number of members, centered around two founders (Alexandre Maicetti and Sébastien Riqui). Based on the Paris of 1871, the year the "Paris Commune" was founded, the group is active in the world of fashion and graphic art. Its products are available in Japan at ESTNATION, Isetan Men's, Opening Ceremony, and Listier, among others.

During the pop-up store event on September 6th, two members, an art director and a designer, will be visiting Japan. The aim is to create excitement for the store's opening by linking it with "VOGUE FASHION'S NIGHT OUT 2014," which will be held in the Harajuku, Omotesando, and Aoyama areas on the same day.

On the day, purchasers of "Commune de Paris" will receive a special pin badge, and the first 20 people will receive a portrait drawn by art director Sebastian at the live event.

T-shirts, tote bags, and iPhone cases specially made for this pop-up store will also be on display at the venue.
