NIGO and the CEO of Beams guide you around Tokyo. A travel guidebook for local creators is published.

Aug 5, 2014

PIE International will publish the "CITIX60: World City Guide" series (1,200 yen) in early August, introducing information on cities around the world.

The six guidebooks released this time will cover London, Paris, New York, Tokyo, Barcelona, and Berlin, respectively. Each guidebook is divided into five chapters: "Famous Spots & Architecture," "Cultural Facilities & Art Spaces," "Markets & Shops," "Restaurants & Cafes," and "Nightlife."

In addition, 60 local creators each select and introduce one popular spot in their city. Therefore, a major feature of each guide is that it introduces the highlights of each city from the unique perspective of a local resident. Many spots recommended by fashion creators are also featured, such as Jane Bowler and Geoffrey J. Finch in London, and Diane Pernet and Flaminia Saccucci in Paris.

Each spot's page has a QR code that allows you to display its location on Google Maps on your smartphone. There are also notebook pages that are convenient for taking notes, and if you remove the cover it can be used as a map of the city. Each map has been drawn by a local illustrator.
