The "Marni Summer Edition" line, launched in 2009 to make MARNI style more accessible, has launched a new capsule collection, "Saturday Morning," for the Spring/Summer 2013 season.

The animals depicted on the tops and bags are a collaboration with Dutch graphic artist Rop van Mierlo; the donkeys, tigers, and parrots are featured in his book "Wild Animals." The ostrich was designed exclusively for Marni, and the colorful parrot-print top is exclusive to the Isetan Shinjuku store.

Inspired by outerwear and loungewear, the collection exudes a relaxed, urban vibe. The collection includes oversized shorts, skirts, and tops, as well as clean-cut shirts, crafted from crisp cotton, technical voile, and cotton jersey. The color palette is white, gray, and pink, accented with black stripes. Accessories include silk scarves, plastic bags with leather handles, and animal brooches that add a playful touch to your outfits. They will be sold at Marni boutiques nationwide and on the official website.

Van Mierlo's "Wild Animals" won the Best Dutch Design Award in 2011. Van Mierlo himself has said of the book, "It's a children's book that you can only understand when you're old enough."
