Ode to the Iris
Where there is love, there are flowers. Fascinated by their symbolism as well as the nuances of their scents, Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud has always chosen flowers as the primary stage for his creativity. This time, he has chosen one of the most precious flowers, the iris, as the protagonist of the magic of "Spell on You."

It takes a long time and patience - six years - for the iris to be ready for extraction. The rhizomes rest quietly underground for three years to fully develop all their aromatic aspects, after which they are dried for another three years before they are ready for extraction. It takes five tonnes of flowers to produce one kilogram of absolute. Jacques expresses his amazement at the flower's incomparable charm: "It's like the finest wines from Grand Crus. Iris is itself a love potion, a love potion, its scent literally stimulates the senses. It's no coincidence that iris powder has long been used in cosmetics. Its exquisite fragrance captivates and seduces, like the ultimate beauty."

Jacques used two essences extracted from Florentine Iris pallida, known as the noblest variety, to highlight the flower's dual nature as the heart of the fragrance.
