May 24, 2016

The art festival "TOKYO ART FLOW 00" will be held in the Futako-Tamagawa Station area from July 29th to 31st. The 0th edition of the festival is themed around "Human Nature." From the shopping complex around Futako-Tamagawa Station to the Tamagawa Riverbank, the Futako-Tamagawa area's largest natural resource, various programs will be held to create a space for creativity and exploration for artists and local residents. The Tamagawa Riverbank, the main venue, will feature "Beautiful Bridge #2," a public installation utilizing the bridge piers of National Route 246 by Swiss artist Lang & Baumann, and "Air Stone," a piece by SUPPOSE DESIGN OFFICE's Makoto Tanijiri and Ai Yoshida that depicts a living room surrounded by a transparent sphere. The "246 Theater" will also be open, screening films, and visitors can enjoy glamping on the Tamagawa Riverbank at night. Other venues will feature "Uta Umachi," a song installation by Miu Sakamoto and CANTUS, and "10 MILLIONS," an art fair that brings together artworks desired by business leaders under the theme of "What would you buy if you had 10 million yen?". Takahashi Kyota's "Night View Project - Magenta Night," which will paint the nightscape of commercial facilities, streets, and other areas in magenta, will feature works such as "It's You Who Rings This Bell," in which the color of the lights changes when visitors ring a bell, and "Tweeting Streetlights," a collaborative work with poet Tanikawa Shuntaro, in which streetlights speak poetry by flashing their lights in the rhythm of Morse code.
