The first collection of works by Yu Nagaba, an illustrator active in "POPEYE" and "GINZA" [Recommended by Daikanyama T-Site]

Aug 7, 2015

Each bookstore will act as a concierge, recommending "the book you should read now" to FASHION HEADLINE readers. Every Friday, Daikanyama T-Site (17-5 Sarugaku-cho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) will introduce a book selection.

■ "I DRAW" by Nagaba Yu

This is the first collection of works by illustrator Nagaba Yu, also known as "Frog Sensei," whose work includes advertisements for companies like Panasonic, window displays at Ginza Wako, and illustrations for magazines like POPEYE, GINZA, and WIRED, as well as books.

This book, limited to 500 copies, contains approximately 200 carefully selected drawings from his solo exhibition held in Nakano, Tokyo in January 2014 to the present. The book design was handled by Maeda Akinobu, who also serves as art director for POPEYE.

Currently, an exhibition commemorating the publication of this book is being held in the gallery space on the first floor of Daikanyama T-Site Building No. 2. In addition to selling 50 drawings, the space is also selling original T-shirts that were produced as part of last year's POPEYE sandwich special issue, for which he was responsible for the cover and which immediately sold out, as well as merchandise such as T-shirts and tote bags created specifically for this issue.
