KNOCKING ON THE DOORS TINY GARDEN FESTIVAL, an outdoor festival brought together by Urban Research Doors featuring live music, art, food, and more, will be held on August 29th and 30th at the MUJI Campania Tsumagoi Campground in Tsumagoi, Gunma Prefecture.
KNOCKING ON THE DOORS TINY GARDEN FESTIVAL, which began in 2013 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the brand's founding, will be held for the third time this year. Based on the concept of a "garden party held in a small garden," the event brings together a variety of genres, including live music, art, movies, sports, and food, all in one place.
This year's stage will feature live performances by artists such as Hatakeyama Miyuki, Tiny Song Show, Takano Hiroshi, INO hidefumi, Sugise Yoko, JOHNSONS MOTORCAR, Chocolat & Akito, Ohata Yuichi, and Kubota Takeshi. Workshops will include an experience of making original tenugui (Japanese towel) using animals and vehicles made from Japanese paper stencils by tenugui specialist store Kamawanu, as well as making baby's breath crowns and tie-dyeing. Activities include a hot air balloon ride and skateboarding lessons.
Food options include Higuma Donuts, which debuted at the festival and has since opened stalls at the Aoyama Farmers Market and Aoyama Bread Festival, dishes using seasonal vegetables by DILL eat,life., and a menu using traditional miso from a long-established miso shop in Niigata that has been in business for 32 years. Drinks include domestic craft beer from a local brewery in Minoh City, Osaka, and Botanical Beverage Works, as well as drinks made with ingredients from Shikoku.
A shuttle bus is also available from Osaka and Tokyo, with round-trip fares priced at 11,000 yen from Osaka and 5,500 yen from Tokyo.
