Flying Tiger Copenhagen, a lifestyle goods store from Denmark, has teamed up with Fujimoto Taichi, the creator of events such as "Early Morning Festival" and the popular "Slide the City," to host the "Flying Tiger Hige Festival 2015" at Spilbar KYOTO on August 8th and 9th.
The "Flying Tiger Hige Festival 2015," also known as the "Hige Fest," is an event themed around beards, a symbol of happiness that is also Santa Claus' trademark and is used as a party item around the world. The event will be held in conjunction with Fujimoto Taichi and coincides with "Beard Day," established on August 8th, because the character for "eight" (八) resembles a beard. On the day, participants will receive a gift of the shop's popular "moustache," and will be able to enjoy creating their own unique beard styles. There will also be performances by artists who use beards as their icon or theme, such as musicians like Hige Driver and Official Hige Dandism, and the Kyoto University Higeken Hige Research Group. Beard-themed food and a photo booth will also be available. Additionally, at 8:08:08 PM on August 8th, all participants are scheduled to perform a "beard line dance."
