Seiko (SEIKO) has released the new "Dual Time" model in the 8X series of the world's first GPS solar watch, the Seiko Astron. To coincide with this, a video titled "Watch DJ," showcasing the series' worldview, was released on the official Seiko Astron website on August 25th. The Seiko Astron, released in 2012, is the world's first GPS solar watch, compatible with 40 time zones worldwide and capable of obtaining accurate location and time information from GPS satellite signals with a simple button press. It features a smart sensor that automatically adjusts the time within five seconds of sunlight hitting the dial, boasting exceptional reception sensitivity that ensures reliable reception of GPS satellite signals anywhere the sky is visible. The latest model now features a dual time display function that simultaneously displays the time in two different time zones.
The video "Watch DJ," available on the official website, features Mitsu the Beats, one of Japan's world-renowned DJs, attempting the world's first DJ set up using a wristwatch. The video begins with a DJ booth being built, with large screens surrounding it and Seiko Astrons connected to turntables and other DJ equipment. Once the Seiko Astron adjusts the time zone, music begins. When Mitsu the Beats scratches the Seiko Astron on his wrist, the screen displays the sun, moon, and starry sky, moving in trajectories synchronized with the DJ settling in, accompanied by soothing music.
