"Star Wars Art Exhibition: The Art of TSUNEO SANDA," featuring works by TSUNEO SANDA, an official Lucasfilm artist with over 20 years of experience, will be held from August 29th to September 16th on the first floor book floor of Daikanyama T-Site Books Building 1.
After winning an award at Japan's International Science Fiction Illustration Contest, TSUNEO SANDA was discovered by the New York magazine OMNI, and his artwork began appearing on the magazine's covers in 1989. He subsequently created character art for Star Trek and Star Wars with a sci-fi and fantasy theme. Furthermore, since 1996, he has been commissioned by Lucasfilm to create Star Wars art posters and book covers. He has also been active as an official Disney Studios artist since 2010.
This is the first full-scale exhibition in Japan, and TSUNEO SANDA's Star Wars art spanning more than 20 years will be displayed and sold on bookshelves. More than 10 pieces will be on display, ranging from rare works such as "Congratulations!", "Labyrinth/R2D2," and "Elegant Amidala" to his latest work, "The Increase." Works can also be purchased through the online shop.
