Our Favorite Shop, a shop and gallery that opened in Shirokane, Tokyo in July of this year, will be holding its irregular event, "OFS Fountain," on September 5th. This first event, "Our Favorite Smile Shop: An Evening of Okinawa and Rakugo," allows visitors to experience Okinawa firsthand.
Our Favorite Shop is a shop and gallery jointly opened by three companies: KIGI, a company run by art directors Ryosuke Uehara and Yoshie Watanabe; bluestract, whose creative director is Takehisa Moriya; and Maruji Seito, known for its Shigaraki ware. The shop and gallery showcases a variety of cultures, including art, design, crafts, fashion, and music.
This event, titled "An Evening of Okinawa and Rakugo," will focus on "RyuQ," a project that introduces things and experiences that enrich daily life through the wisdom and blessings of Okinawa. The restaurant will offer "Ryu-Q," a food brand that makes use of Okinawa's natural bounty, including bottled jam "Okinawa Passion Fruit Butter" (40g 560 yen, 70g 980 yen) and "Okinawa Chili Paste" (30g 650 yen), as well as dishes and awamori made with Okinawan ingredients. It will also showcase Okinawan folk songs, rakugo, calligraphy, and other local culture in a live format. The food will be served in KIKOF tableware designed by KIGI.
