Bvlgari introduces the new Bvlgari Aluminum GMT, featuring modern functionality across 24 time zones.

Jul 31, 2021

Travel is about crossing time zones and getting away from it all.

Travel has been on hold for the past year and a half, but as summer comes to an end and anticipation for travel rises, the Bvlgari Aluminium GMT will be released in September 2021, giving you a taste of that feeling a little earlier.

The Bvlgari Aluminium needs no introduction. This timepiece gained legendary status in the late 1990s as the first luxury watch crafted from aluminum with a rubber bezel. It retains the urban, unconventional, and certain "cool" vibe of the original model, making it a perfect fit for a variety of occasions.

The Bvlgari Aluminium GMT (GMT stands for Greenwich Mean Time, formerly known as Universal Time, now UTC (Coordinated Universal Time)) is a worthy successor to the eye-catching, modern model. While retaining the essential elements that defined its identity—its aluminum case, blue bezel, and rubber strap—the new timepiece adds contemporary features that capture the travel enthusiast's dream of crossing 24 time zones. The 1998 model was so popular that it was even featured on the livery of Alitalia's Boeing 747 jumbo jets, which plied intercontinental routes at the time, and the new timepiece pays homage to that. The Bvlgari Aluminium GMT displays both home time and local time, making it easy to use and easy to read. Home time is displayed as usual with the hour and minute hands pointing to a scale on the inside of the dial, while local time is displayed with a red-tipped hand pointing to a 24-hour scale on the outside of the dial. This outer dial track is divided into two zones of different colors, each representing 12 hours, and serves to adjust to the current time zone and distinguish between day and night. All settings can be easily adjusted using the crown. The Bvlgari Aluminium GMT is not only functional, but also has a global appeal, regardless of time zone. As we foresee a new and bright future, the Bvlgari Aluminium GMT will be the perfect travel companion, along with the vaccine passport, which has become a new tool for travel.
