Hansel and Gretel's Gingerbread House! Hilton Tokyo's Christmas Dessert Buffet

Oct 13, 2016

The Marble Lounge on the first floor of Hilton Tokyo will be hosting a Christmas dessert fair called "Hansel and Gretel's Gingerbread House" from November 1st to December 25th.

The fair will feature 30 desserts inspired by the Grimm fairy tale "Hansel and Gretel." During the fair, a 6-meter Christmas tree will be set up in the center of the lounge, and a large gingerbread house will be displayed on the buffet table. The buffet table will be decorated with three themes: "The Road to the Gingerbread House," featuring a gingerbread house and adorable sweets; "Hansel and Gretel's Dream of Christmas," featuring various Christmas trees of various sizes and mountains of presents; and the snack corner, "The Witch's Hearth."

The "Road to the Gingerbread House" will feature a number of desserts inspired by the story, including "Hansel's Pebble," a meringue cream sandwich inspired by the pebble that Hansel and Gretel used as a guidepost when they were abandoned in the mountains. The lineup includes a salted caramel-flavored "Stepmother's Pudding" for the wicked stepmother, "Kikori's Father's Buche de Noël," a chocolate sponge cake coated in dark chocolate cream, and "Gretel's Shortcake" lavishly topped with berries. The "Hansel and Gretel's Dream of Christmas" corner will also feature a variety of Christmas sweets alongside the mountain of Christmas presents the couple will receive. Items include "Christmas Morning," featuring walnut cookies dipped in white chocolate; "Chocolate Brownie Santa Claus," featuring strawberries shaped like Santa Claus's hat; and "Orange Nougat Cream Puffs," a sophisticated treat with a touch of Grand Marnier. Three types of Christmas cakes, available at the hotel's takeout shop, will also be available: "Pineapple Cream Christmas Roll Cake," a vanilla sponge cake roll filled with pineapple compote and lemon-flavored cream; and "Mango Lime Mascarpone Christmas Log," featuring the refreshing flavors of mango and lime.

In addition, the snack corner, "Witch's Hearth," offers sandwiches, pasta, and soups served in large pots, which change daily. The hours are from 14:30 to 17:30, and the price is 3,600 yen per person on weekdays and 3,720 yen per person on weekends and holidays. *Tax and service charge not included.
