The "Moomin Picture Book World Exhibition: From Tove Jansson's Original Story to the Creation of a New Picture Book" will be held from November 30th to December 7th at the Event Square on the 8th floor of Matsuya Ginza. Moomin first appeared as "Moomintroll" in Tove Jansson's fairy tales and has spread worldwide through comics, picture books, animation, and more. However, most of the current color works are created by the official artists, Lina and Sami Kara, who respect Tove's unique worldview. Only three Moomin picture books feature Tove's own rich colors. The exhibition will feature approximately 80 original illustrations by Kara, who adds their own unique humor to the worldview of her original works. Furthermore, the exhibition will introduce the creative process by comparing the illustrations with Tove's picture books and videos, providing an opportunity to enjoy a new world of Moomin picture books inspired by the original work. Over 300 exhibition-exclusive merchandise will also be available for purchase at the venue.
