
Actor George Clooney was born on May 6, 1961, in Lexington, Kentucky, United States. He made his acting debut in a 1978 television drama. From 1994 to 1999, he played a regular role in the medical drama "ER," earning two Emmy nominations. He subsequently starred in various films, and in 2001, he starred in Steven Soderbergh's "Ocean's Eleven," which grossed $450 million worldwide and became his biggest hit. He also starred in the sequels, "Ocean's Twelve" (2004) and "Ocean's Thirteen" (2007). He won the Academy Award for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay for "Good Night, and Good Luck" in 2005, and the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for "Syriana." He also won a Golden Globe Award for "The Descendants" in 2011. He has also been working on film production since around 2002, and in 2012 he produced "Argo" with Ben Affleck, which won Best Picture at the 85th Academy Awards.
In his private life, he is known as a playboy, having previously dated Renée Zellweger and Stacy Keibler. He has remained single since his divorce in 1993. However, in May of this year, reports of his engagement to London lawyer Amal Alamuddin were reported, causing a stir.
