Actor George Clooney was born on May 6, 1961, in Lexington, Kentucky, United States. He made his acting debut in a 1978 television drama. From 1994 to 1999, he played a regular role in the medical drama "ER," earning two Emmy nominations. He subsequently starred in various films, and in 2001, he starred in Steven Soderbergh's "Ocean's Eleven," which grossed $450 million worldwide and became his biggest hit. He also starred in the sequels, "Ocean's Twelve" (2004) and "Ocean's Thirteen" (2007). He won the Academy Award for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay for "Good Night, and Good Luck" in 2005, and the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for "Syriana."
