Rock-inspired Diesel Living: Spoon Tools, etc. [Milan Salone 2014 Report]

May 5, 2014

DIESEL LIVING unveiled a comprehensive range of new products, from furniture, lighting, home fabrics, tableware, and kitchen units. The entire space embodied the brand's punk spirit.

In order to offer a wide range of home furnishing collections, Diesel does not develop and manufacture its products in-house, but rather forms production partnerships with renowned brands in each field. Collaborating with globally renowned brands such as Moroso (furniture), Foscarini (lighting), Scavolini (kitchen units), Seletti (tableware), and Zucci (fabrics) and promoting each brand name, each brand benefits by appealing to new customer demographics.

Of course, the punk and rock spirit that is Diesel's identity is also essential to the home furnishings collection. Diesel's creative team has been deeply involved in product design, working closely with each brand's design team. The new Diesel Living collection, born from this process, features lighting pieces like the "Crash" and "Bell" collections, which, despite being made of glass, evoke the image of a timbre or an exposed work lamp at a construction site. The "Fork" collection, with its linen shade, diffuses light like the light spilling from a camping tent. While casual, the attention to detail in the stitching is uncompromising, demonstrating Diesel's commitment to detail. The tableware collection also features witty products characteristic of the brand. The "TRANSMISSION" candle holder was inspired by bolts, while the "MACHINE" cutlery collection was inspired by wrenches and other tools. Other pieces, such as ceramic tableware, glassware, and mugs, all seem to have been transformed from factory work desks into dining tables, bursting with the unwavering Diesel spirit.
