JEANASIS, a women's apparel brand operated by Point, will release its third special sneaker collaboration with New Balance Japan in early February 2013. The "WR996" model is a slimmed-down version of New Balance's ever-popular classic "996" for women, featuring a black base and a mix of different materials. The key spring/summer color, yellow-green, accents the sneaker, making it suitable for a wide range of styles, from sporty to modern. The polka-dot insole and included three interchangeable shoelaces (black, silver, and yellow-green) can be changed to suit your mood. The sneaker is priced at ¥8,190. The sneaker will be available at JEANASIS stores nationwide, as well as Collect Point's Harajuku and Okazaki stores. Founded in 1906 in Boston, USA, as a manufacturer of orthopedic shoes, New Balance began manufacturing running shoes in the 1960s, drawing on its knowledge of the anatomy of the foot. In 1972, current Chairman Jim Davies bought the company and established the "Instep Racing" shoe system, which allows free movement of the toes. The shoes that embodied this system continue to receive overwhelming support from runners to this day.
