Musician Bono was born on May 10, 1960, in Ireland. He is the lead singer of the rock band U2 and writes most of the band's lyrics.
In 1976, drummer Larry posted a notice on his high school bulletin board looking for band members, which led to the formation of the band that would become U2. Bono, the Edge, Larry, and Adam Clayton's passionate performances captivated local fans, and U2 made its major debut in 1980.
The band subsequently released a string of hits, including their signature early album "WAR" (1983) and "The Joshua Tree" (1987), which won a Grammy Award for Best Album. Their songs, which dealt with social themes such as politics and religion, were highly praised.

In addition, their albums "All That You Can't Leave Behind" (2000) and "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb" (2004) won a total of 15 Grammy Awards. From 2009 to 2011, the band embarked on the "U2 360° Tour," their largest tour to date, attracting an audience of 7.27 million.

They are also known as international philanthropists and have been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize three times. In June of last year, they launched a project to urge major world leaders to increase food production in Africa and eliminate the opacity of aid. They released classic songs featuring renowned artists such as Sting and Ed Sheeran online. Since 2005, they have also co-founded the environmentally conscious brand "EDUN" with their wife, Ali Hewson.
