Sanyo Shokai will restore a suit that the company tailored for former professional baseball player Shigeo Nagashima 33 years ago.

To celebrate its 70th anniversary last year, Sanyo Shokai launched the tagline "TIMELESS WORK. Let's make truly great things." In 2013, the company began work on the "100-Year Coat," a coat that will be loved for all time, and launched a "100-Year Owner Plan" for buyers (the "100-Year Coat" will continue in 2014). Following the discovery of the pattern for a 33-year-old suit tailored for Nagashima in storage in 2014, the company will restore the suit using modern techniques combined with the original manufacturing methods. It is hoped that the passion, skills, and dedication of the employees involved in making the suits at the time will be passed on to current employees.

A corporate advertisement featuring this experiment will be placed in some newspapers in mid-May, and the finished product will be introduced on the official website in July.
