The documentary film "Herb & Dorothy: A Gift from Two People" will be released on March 30, 2013. Following on from its predecessor, "Herb & Dorothy: A Gift from Two People," which garnered worldwide acclaim, this film follows a husband-wife art collector family living in New York. Herb, a former postal worker, and Dorothy, a librarian, built one of the world's greatest art collections from their modest one-bedroom apartment, and announced their intention to donate the entire collection to the National Gallery of Art, never selling a single piece. However, after half a century, the collection had grown to nearly 5,000 pieces, making it impossible for even the largest national museums in the United States to accept it all. The couple announced the "50x50 Project," a plan to donate 50 pieces to each of the 50 states. This film revolves around the Art Recipient Project, which follows the couple as they travel to the 10 museums across the United States that have accepted their collection. The couple lived quietly in the same apartment they had lived in for 50 years, until Herb passed away, leaving Dorothy to make an unexpected announcement.

Director and producer Sasaki Mei raised funds for this film through crowdfunding, a method of raising small amounts of money from a large number of supporters over the internet. This method has been gaining popularity in the West over the past two years, and it is a method that truly carries on the spirit of Herb and Dorothy, of people donating what they can.
