Hublot has announced the "Big Bang Tourbillon Only Watch," a one-of-a-kind piece for a charity auction.
Only Watch is a charity auction that has been held every two years since 2005, and this year marks its ninth anniversary. Hublot has offered unique pieces since the inaugural auction, and all eight pieces released to date have sold for high prices. The newly announced "Big Bang Tourbillon Only Watch" will be auctioned at Christie's on November 6, 2021. Proceeds from the auction will support research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
The transparent sapphire case and orange bezel are symbols of Hublot's technical excellence. The vibrant orange sapphire was developed by Hublot for the first time in the world by combining titanium and chrome. This dynamic and positive hue is in line with the attitude of Only Watch.
The dial, also made of sapphire crystal, allows a view of the new in-house automatic tourbillon movement, MHUB6035, announced in January of this year. The 22K white gold micro-rotor, which features sunray brushing and sandblasting, is visible from the dial side, creating a sophisticated impression and a striking presence. Sapphire crystal is also used for the three bridges: the barrel bridge, automatic bridge, and tourbillon barrette, marking the first time that sapphire has been incorporated into the movement itself.
The hour and minute hands are coated with Super-LumiNova, and the numerals are orange. The sapphire crystal case back is engraved with the words "Pièce Unique" and the Only Watch logo. The watch also features the One Click system, which allows for easy strap changes, and you can enjoy a combination of two structured (lined) rubber straps (transparent and orange).
